Work on things that ship
We stay embedded and operate what we build. That changes what the work feels like.
What the work is actually like
Most agency work ends at the handover. Ours does not. We build something, then we run it, which means the person who wrote the code is still around when it meets real traffic, real data, and the edge cases nobody thought about during scoping.
That is the whole job in one sentence. It makes the work more satisfying and it makes you more careful, because you will personally meet every shortcut you take.
Teams are small, usually two to four people embedded with a client. You will talk to the client directly rather than through a layer of account management, and you will ship in short sprints rather than disappearing for a quarter.
Who we hire
Senior engineers, across three disciplines: full-stack product work, AI and machine learning, and infrastructure. We hire for judgment more than for a particular framework, because the stack changes per client and you will be picking things up regardless.
The people who do well here tend to share a few traits:
- strong fundamentals, and the honesty to say when something is outside them
- comfortable starting before the requirements are fully clear
- able to explain a technical trade-off to someone non-technical without condescending
- ships without needing to be managed closely, and says so early when something is stuck
- cares what happens to the thing after launch
Where you would work
We are remote-first, with people in New York, London, and Lagos. We care about overlap rather than location: enough shared hours with your team and your client to work together properly, and no expectation that you sit in a particular chair.
Open roles
We do not keep a permanent job board, because we would rather not list a role we cannot fill well. We are, however, always talking to senior engineers in the three disciplines above, and we place people with clients continuously.
So there is no wrong time to get in touch. If your timing does not match ours, we will say so plainly rather than leaving you in a pipeline for six months.
How to apply
Send us a note with what you have built, what you owned rather than contributed to, and what you want to be doing next. A link to something real is worth more than a polished CV. We read everything and reply either way.
